Great Lakes Grilling Company is an innovative cooking accessories and gourmet wood products manufacturer based in western Michigan. Aside from spices and sauces, they are well known for their manufacture of cedar plank cooking boards. Brandish was commissioned to create the branding iron heads so they could embellish all their wood products with the company logo. These cedar plank cooking boards are becoming so popular a number of restaurants have been purchasing quantities with their own branded signatures and logos for customers to purchase. | Boy Scouts of America - We created for the organizers of the 2001 Boy Scout Jamboree, 16 traditional branding irons, featuring a simplified logo that would avoid branding problems created by using the actual very detailed BSA logo. They set up 4 stations, with four propane burners in each, to accommodate over 25,000 scouts that branded leather belts and other leather accessories during the exciting week long celebration. The branding sites were such a success, the organizing committee asked us if we would join them again in creating the 2005 Boy Scouts of America Jamboree irons. |  |

Custom Design is a stage platform manufacturing company from Roselle, Illinois. We were contacted by representatives, they wanted to create a simplified logo to be used as a brand. What we did was to take the logo art work and change it from the original halftone design format into black and white line art . As you can see they took this opportunity to make it a self promotional piece by adding their telephone number to the logo.
This is a good example of the clarity of text on wood. |
